Personal Writing Projects:

I am currently working on a young adult novel/graphic novel. It began as my Masters portfolio project and will one day be completed! It is a novel about a teenage boy navigating concepts of identity, perception, grief and sanity. In content it explores the fine line between sanity and madness and the extent to which this is impacted by the understandings and perception of others and oneself. In literary technique it explores the interaction of words and images within storytelling.

I am also writing a series of picture books about Alfred the giraffe. Along with random scribblings of ideas and the occasional poem.

Book Reviews:

I regularly reviewed books for the Ultimate Book Guide Blog  and contributed to The Ultimate Teen Book Guide (2010) [Flynn, L. Hahn, D. and Reuben S. (Eds) A & C Black Publishers].

I have recently begun featuring book reviews on this website. If you are an author and would like me to feature your book on my reviews page please contact me.

Future Plans:

In the future I would like to offer writing workshops, initially for young people in schools and through youth groups. I am an experienced youth worker and have worked within school and public libraries. I would love to introduce young people to the joys of free writing. I am considering offering two types of workshop - one relating to academic writing; improving writing skills to increase school levels and grades. The other relating to pure enjoyment of writing; exploring free writing techniques, playing with words and imagination. These plans are in very early stages and will require much planning (and funding!). If you would be interested in these services please let me know.
